Message From Your Chapter President

Ladies & Gentlemen,

Welcome to the new and improved Russell/Muscogee County Alabama Alumni Chapter website. Watch over the next few days, as the site progresses into a new and improved experience for us all. Many changes are in place and will be made 100% functional soon. This site provides you with many important functions including: How to apply for UA admission/scholarships; How to get the UA (State of Georgia) car tags; learn about our upcoming events and much, much more. We hope that you will check this site often for new updates, exciting news and all things University of Alabama related.

Furthermore, as you may know, our Chapter won the 2009 Best Out of State Chapter of the Year award. (Thanks to you all.) So, I want to urge each of you to help us continue to spread the word about the Chapter. Let’s continue to grow it as much as we all can as a team! If you haven’t’ already done so, please sign up on our email list. That way, you’ll be one of the first to know of the latest news about our Chapter.

Additionally, On August 31st, we had our biggest Chapter meeting to date. Coach Gene Stallings and Siran Stacy were outstanding speakers and the night couldn’t have been any better. More importantly, we raised several thousands of dollars for the Tom & Jeri Starlin Scholarship Fund. So, thanks to all of you for your support.

Lastly, I want to say many, many thanks to our webmaster, Eric Slaton. Eric has put a tremendous amount of effort into making this site be one of the very best of all the Alumni Chapters. His contact info is below in case anyone needs some work done for their business needs as well.

On behalf of our Board, we are looking forward to a great football season and hope you’ll continue the great support that you’ve shown the Chapter.

Gene Stallings Kick-Off Dinner

OH WHAT A NIGHT

Wow what an awesome awesome awesome night! I was already super excited to meet Gene Stallings on arriving last night! But to have such an awesome dinner, meeting some awesome people! Then on to some great food and desserts.

Then to sit and listen to someone as phenomenal as Coach Stallings! WOW!!!

His voice! His Words! Just moving, Inspiring and he just draws you in and captivates and demands all of your attention! Not many people had a dry eye last night!

At times, listening to Coach Stallings and hearing his voice, I often asked myself, "How does(would) God's voice compare to this guy!" LOL I just kept wondering if he even had a microphone, because his voice just carried across the entire room! Well, I guess like a Crimson Tide across the entire dining hall!

Then when he was finished, I felt like I wanted to hear him talk all night. Just as I was missing and getting used to not hearing him speak and the night winding down...SIRAN STACY approaches the podium and speaks! As brief, in comparison, to Coach Stallings speech, WOW did Siran just get your heart strings "a movin'" again!

What an awesome awesome awesome night!!!

Also, as stated, I am working on the final touches of the reworking of the new site. It will be posted this week and I look forward to getting it up and going. I will notify Blair when it is complete and request an email to be sent out to notify everyone.

I received a great number of comments and compliments on the site! Thank you all. I hope the new look and functioning of the site will be more to everyone’s liking and it should prove to be more user friendly and a little more interaction and more informative!

Thanks again for such an awesome turn out and such a wonderful night! I know everyone had a great time and enjoyed the meeting as much as we did!
